WIESBADEN – The Federation, Länder and municipalities have budgeted 129.2 billion euros for education expenditure in 2016, 5.0 billion euros more than in the previous year. This figure was released by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) in the Bildungsfinanzbericht 2016 (Education Finance Report) published on 15 December 2016. The Education Finance Report was commissioned by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs.
