WIESBADEN – In 2014, enterprises in German industry (excluding construction) invested 7.9 billion euros in tangible fixed assets for environmental protection which help to reduce, prevent or eliminate emissions or to use resources more carefully. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that environmental investments rose by 5.7% or 426 million euros from 2013, reaching a new record high. These environmental investments accounted for 10.3% of all investments made by the enterprises (76.8 billion euros) in 2014.
