WIESBADEN – According to provisional results, 311 people died in traffic accidents in Germany in October 2016. This was an increase of 25, or +8.7%, compared with October 2015. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the number of people injured decreased by 3.2% to roughly 33,200 year-on-year.
From January to October 2016, there were 2,744 road traffic accident fatalities, which was a decrease of 135 people, or 4.7%, compared with the first ten months of 2015. The number of people injured was up 0.8% to roughly 331,800 in the same period.
