WIESBADEN – Based on provisional results of the quarterly cash statistics, revenue of the coreand extra budgets of the overall public budget rose 3.5% to 979.5 billion euros in quarters 1 to 3 of 2016, year on year. Expenditure increased by 3.7% to 979.6 billion euros. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that this was a cash deficit – as defined in public finance statistics – of 0.1 billion euros for quarters 1 to 3 of 2016. In quarters 1 to 3 of 2015, the overall public budget showed a cash surplus of 2.4 billion euros.
