Press Pig population in Germany down 1%

WIESBADEN – On reference day 3 May 2017, 27.1 million pigs were kept in Germany, as reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). According to provisional results of the semi-annual survey, the pig population decreased by roughly 276,000, or 1%, from November 2016. This was the lowest population recorded since November 2010.
