WIESBADEN - In examination year 2016 (winter semester 2015/2016 and summer semester 2016), roughly 492,000 graduates obtained a higher education degree at German institutions of higher education. Their number has increased continuously since 2001. Compared with the previous year, it was up 2%. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that 442,600 German and 49,100 foreign citizens (10%) passed the relevant final exams.
