WIESBADEN – Youth welfare offices in Germany carried out approximately 136,900 procedures to assess child endangerment in 2016. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that this was an increase of 5.7% on the previous year.
In 21,600 of the procedures, the youth welfare offices held the opinion that these clearly were cases of child endangerment ("acute child endangerment").
