WIESBADEN – Significant parts of Germany's cultural heritage are collected, preserved and made available to the general public by 6,710 museums, 9,117 main and branch locations of public libraries, and 83 state archives of the Federation and the Länder. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that this corresponded to 8 museums and 11 public libraries per 100,000 inhabitants in Germany in 2015.
