WIESBADEN – According to provisional results of the quarterly earnings survey, the index of real earnings in Germany rose by 0.7% in the third quarter of 2017 compared with the third quarter of 2016. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the increase in nominal earnings was 2.5%. The consumer price index was up by 1.8% in the same period. Accordingly, real earnings have increased continuously year-on-year since the first quarter of 2014.
