Press Index of real earnings up 0.8% in 2017

WIESBADEN – According to provisional results of the quarterly survey of earnings, the index of real earnings in Germany rose by nearly 0.8% in 2017 compared with a year earlier. Based on provisional results, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that nominal earnings in 2017 increased by roughly 2.5% year on year. Consumer prices were up 1.8% in the same period.
