WIESBADEN – According to provisional results, roughly 11.0 million pupils are receiving education in schools of general education and vocational schools in Germany in school year 2017/2018. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that this is a slight decrease of 0.4% compared with the previous school year. The decline has been recorded in the number of both male pupils (-0.3% to 5.7 million) and female pupils (-0.5% to 5.3 million).
