Press 58.6% of German exports went to European Union Member States in 2017

WIESBADEN – The European Union (EU) is Germany’s most important trade market. To coincide with the Europe Day on 9 May, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that Germany exported goods to the value of 749.7 billion euros to the other 27 EU Member States in 2017. These exports accounted for 58.6% of the country's total exports. The value of goods imported from EU Member States amounted to 590.5 billion euros, which accounted for 57.1% of all imports. In 2017, seven EU Member States were among Germany's ten most important trading partners regarding both exports and imports.
