WIESBADEN – According to provisional results, the amount of waste generated in Germany increased to 411.5 million tonnes in 2016. To coincide with the World Environment Day on 5 June, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the increase was 2.3% year on year (2015: 402.2 million tonnes).
