WIESBADEN – The turnover in selected service branches in the first quarter of 2018 was a calendar and seasonally adjusted 5.2% higher than in the first quarter of 2017. Based on first calculations, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that this was the highest figure since coverage began in the first quarter of 2003. Compared with the previous quarter, turnover was up 1.0% in the first quarter of 2018.
The seasonally adjusted number of persons employed rose 2.9% on the same quarter a year earlier, reaching a record high, too. Compared with the previous quarter, it increased by 0.6%.
