Press release No. 254 of 11 July 2018

WIESBADEN – Many people choose the summer months to get married. This involves using the relevant services provided by public authorities. Satisfaction regarding interaction with public authorities is high as far as marriage is concerned. This was the result of a life situation survey conducted by the Federal Statistical Office in 2017 to determine satisfaction with public services. The survey covered both marriages and the registration of same-sex partnerships. On a scale of –2 (very dissatisfied) to +2 (very satisfied), the average satisfaction rating was 1.33. Citizens were more satisfied with public authorities only in respect of the birth of a child (1.38) and the patient decree (1.36). The average satisfaction rating for all 22 life situations of citizens included in the survey was 1.07.
