WIESBADEN – In 2016, the current expenditure on environmental protection incurred by enterprises in German industry (excluding construction) totalled 31.8 billion euros. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that these are follow-up costs of investments into systems, measures or services to reduce or eliminate emissions, which are borne by enterprises to meet environmental standards.
