WIESBADEN – German fruitgrowers expect apple yields of 1.1 million tonnes and pear yields of 46,800 tonnes in 2018. Based on provisional estimates of August 2018, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that apple yields may exceed the average of the last ten years (934,600 tonnes) by nearly 17%. Pear yields may be approximately 18% higher than their ten-year average of almost 39,600 tonnes.
