WIESBADEN – In 2017, the education expenditure of the Federation, Länder and municipalities amounted to 133.4 billion euros. That was an increase of 5.0 billion euros, or 3.9%, compared with a year earlier. This figure was released by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) in the Bildungsfinanzbericht 2018 (Education Finance Report), based on provisional data of the public budgets.
