WIESBADEN – In December 2018, production in industry was down by 0.4% from the previous month on a price, seasonally and calendar adjusted basis according to provisional data of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). The revised figure shows a decrease of 1.3% (primary -1.9%) from November 2018.
In December 2018, production in industry excluding energy and construction was up by 0.2%. Within industry, the production of capital goods increased by 0.9%.The production of intermediate goods decreased by 0.4% and the production of consumer goods showed a decrease of 0.5%. Outside industry the energy production remained at the same level of the previous month, the production in construction decreased by 4.1%.
The rates of change refer to the production index for the industry (2015 = 100). Seasonal and calendar adjustment is done using the X-13 JDemetra+ method.
