Press Turnover and employment in the service sector continued to grow in the 4th quarter of 2018

WIESBADEN – The turnover in selected service branches (see below) increased by a calendar and seasonally adjusted 4.0% in the fourth quarter of 2018 compared with the fourth quarter of 2017. Based on provisional calculations, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that turnover rose by 1.0% in the fourth quarter of 2018 compared with the previous quarter. The seasonally adjusted number of persons employed in these branches increased by 1.5% on the same quarter a year earlier, and by 0.4% on the previous quarter.
