WIESBADEN – In 2018, the quantity of mushrooms harvested in Germany was 73,200 tonnes. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the production of mushrooms remained nearly unchanged compared with a year earlier. White mushrooms (champignons) accounted for almost the total production (98%). The remaining harvested quantity consisted of oyster mushrooms, shiitake and other special mushroom cultures.
