WIESBADEN – This Thursday, the completely redesigned website of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) goes online. At www.destatis.de, statistical data on the society, the economy, and the environment are now available in an optimised form for mobile devices - navigation and search features have been improved, too.
Clear page structure for easy research
On the new pages, major basic data are arranged by theme, so that data research is easier now. For those who need more detail: from the theme pages you can get directly to the relevant data in the GENESIS-Online statistical database. In addition, there are new interactive features in the "Statistics visualised" service area.
New: "Open data" as a central entry for data journalists
The new "Open data "service area provides information on freely available data and relevant interfaces. The Federal Statistical Office thus has optimised its offer for data-based web development and data journalism.
In the next few months, new elements will gradually be integrated into the new website. For example, there will be more dynamic charts whose underlying data can directly be downloaded.
The English version is currently being set up. Please use our GENESIS-Online database; there our data are also available in the English language.
