WIESBADEN – The index of real earnings in Germany rose by 1.3% in 2018 compared with one year earlier. Based on final results of the quarterly survey of earnings, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that nominal earnings in 2018 increased by roughly 3.1% year on year. This was the highest increase since 2011. Consumer prices rose 1.8% in the same period.
