WIESBADEN – The winners of the first round of the European Statistics Competition (ESC) in Germany have been chosen. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) announces that the team "2behonest" from Gymnasium am Stefansberg in Merzig in Saarland is the winner of Category B of the competition (grades 8, 9 and 10, lower secondary education). The winner of Category A (grades 11, 12 and 13, upper secondary education) is the team "ANA_BSZ" from Berufliches Schulzentrum für Ernährung, Technik und Wirtschaft in Annaberg-Buchholz (Erzgebirgskreis, Sachsen). The awards will be presented to the two winning teams of the German first round at the Federal Statistical Office in Wiesbaden on 28 May 2019.
