Press Hannover Messe: enterprises in partner country Sweden count on cloud computing

Press release No. 126 of 1 April 2019

WIESBADEN – Swedish businesses focus more and more on cloud computing. 57% of the enterprises with 10 or more persons employed used chargeable access to IT infrastructures via internet-based networks in 2018. Benefits offered by such services include low cost, fast connections and a high security level. In Germany, just 22% of the enterprises used cloud computing services in 2018. To coincide with the Hannover Messe taking place from 1 to 5 April with the lead theme "Industrial Intelligence", the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that Sweden ranks first among European Union countries as regards enterprises with fast internet. 75% of the enterprises with at least 10 persons employed had a broadband connection with a contractually agreed data transfer rate of at least 30 megabits per second (Mbit/s) in 2018. In Germany the proportion was 51%.
