WIESBADEN – 0.82 eggs per day or 298 eggs in 365 days – this is how many eggs a laying hen in Germany laid on average in 2018. To coincide with the Easter holidays, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that roughly 12.3 billion eggs were produced for consumption in 2018.
