WIESBADEN –The index of import prices increased by 1.7% in March 2019 compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year. As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), in February 2019 and in January 2019 the annual rates of change were +1.6% and +0.8%, respectively. From February 2019 to March 2019 the index did not change.
The index of import prices, excluding crude oil and mineral oil products, increased in March 2019 by 1.0% compared to March 2018 and in comparison with February 2019 it fell by 0.2%.
The index of export prices increased by 1.3% in March 2019 compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year. In February 2019 and in January 2019 the annual rates of change were +1.3% and +1.1%, respectively. From February 2019 to March 2019 the index slightly rose by 0.1%.
