Press release No. 248 of 28 June 2019
WIESBADEN – German fruit growers expect cherry yields to be very high again this summer. Based on a first estimate (reference date: 10 June 2019), the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that fruit growers expect a harvested quantity of 62,200 tonnes. So the 2019 harvest would again be very good compared with the ten-year average, despite few losses due to late frost and dry periods. The average yield of the last ten years was just over 48,700 tonnes (2018: 60,100 tonnes).
