WIESBADEN – RWTH Aachen University was the university in Germany which raised the highest third party funds in 2017. Having 294 million euros of third party funds at its disposal, RWTH Aachen University ranked first again, as in the previous years. Professors at German universities raised third party funds of an average of 266,200 euros each. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that this was a 3.2% increase on 2016. For comparability reasons, the medical institutions/health sciences of universities are not taken into account.
