WIESBADEN – Environmental protection does not only have an effect on the environment but also generates employment effects. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that 263,883 people (measured in full-time equivalents) were employed in the production of goods, services and construction operations for environmental protection in 2017. In 2016, their number amounted to 251,222.
