WIESBADEN – Between January and September 2019, nearly 94,200 businesses were started in Germany whose legal form and number of employees suggest that they have greater economic importance. Based on an evaluation of business notifications, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that this was a 0.4% increase compared with the same period a year earlier. Considering the development to date, the Federal Statistical Office expects the number of larger businesses started throughout the year 2019 to amount to roughly 124,000 (2018: 123,000).
