+1.2% on the previous month (price, seasonally and calendar adjusted)
-2.5% on the same month a year earlier (price and calendar adjusted)

WIESBADEN – In December 2019, production in industry was down by 3.5% on the previous month on a price, seasonally and calendar adjusted basis according to provisional data of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). In November 2019, the corrected figure shows an increase of 1.2% (primary +1.1%) from October 2019.

In December 2019, production in industry excluding energy and construction was down by 2.9%. Within industry, the production of capital goods decreased by 3.5% and the production of consumer goods by 2.0%. The production of intermediate goods showed a decrease by 2.6%. Outside industry, energy production was up by 2.0% in December 2019 and the production in construction decreased by 8.7%.

The rates of change refer to the production index for industry (2015 = 100). Seasonal and calendar adjustment was made using the X-13 JDemetra+ method.
