WIESBADEN – The socio-cultural institutions in Germany recorded roughly 13 million visits to their events in 2017. These include, for instance, children and youth work and neighbourly help offers, cultural learning opportunities as well as settlement development courses and environmental projects. In the new sector review on Socioculture and cultural education, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that an average of over 35,000 visits per day were counted by the socio-cultural institutions of the Bundesvereinigung Soziokultureller Zentren e. V. This sector review was compiled on behalf of the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media and the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs.
