New orders in main construction industry, December 2019
+2.6% on the previous month (in real terms, seasonally and calendar adjusted)

WIESBADEN – In January 2020, the spread of the Corona virus did not have any impact on new orders in the main construction industry yet. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that price-adjusted new orders in the main construction industry in January 2020 increased a seasonally and working-day adjusted 2.6% on December 2019.
In building construction and civil and underground engineering, in establishments of enterprises with 20 or more persons, new orders increased by 9.1% in nominal terms compared with the corresponding month of the previous year.
