WIESBADEN – As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), the index of import prices decreased by 2.0% in February 2020 compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year. In January 2020 and in December 2019 the annual rates of change were -0.9% and -0.7%, respectively. From January 2020 to February 2020 the index fell by 0.9%.
The index of import prices, excluding crude oil and mineral oil products, decreased in February 2020 by 1.5% compared with February 2019 and in comparison with January 2020 it did not change.
The index of export prices increased by 0.3% in February 2020 compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year. In January 2020 and in December 2019 the annual rates of change were +0.5% and +0.4%, respectively. From January 2020 to February 2020 the index slightly fell by 0.1%.
