WIESBADEN – In February 2020, the construction price index for conventionally constructed new residential buildings (construction work performed at the building; including turnover tax) in Germany was up 3.4% compared with February 2019. In November 2019, as reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), the price index increased by 3.8% on a year earlier. Compared with November 2019, the price index for residential buildings rose by 1.3% in February 2020.
As far as non-residential buildings were concerned, the price index for office buildings was up 3.4% in February 2020 compared with February 2019. The index for industrial buildings rose by 3.3%. The price index relating to road construction also rose by 3.3% compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year.
