WIESBADEN – In 2019, the number of people who immigrated to Germany exceeded the number of those who emigrated by roughly 327,000. In 2018, there were roughly 400,000 more arrivals than departures. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that net immigration thus decreased for the fourth year in a row.
