New orders in main construction industry, May 2020
-5.7% on the previous month (in real terms, seasonally and calendar adjusted)
-8.4% on the same month a year earlier (in real terms, calendar adjusted)
-10.6% on the same month a year earlier (in nominal terms)
WIESBADEN – The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that price-adjusted new orders in the main construction industry in May 2020 decreased a seasonally and working-day adjusted 5.7% on April 2020.
In building construction and civil and underground engineering, in establishments of enterprises with 20 or more persons, new orders decreased by 10.6% in nominal terms compared with the corresponding month of the previous year.
