WIESBADEN – 68% of the roughly 67 million internet users aged 10 years and over (video)phoned, for example, via Skype, Zoom, Facetime, WhatsApp or Viber. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the relevant proportion amounted to 59% in the corresponding period of the previous year. The strong increase (+9 percentage points) could be a first indication of the effects of the social distancing orders at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.
