WIESBADEN - As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), the index of import prices decreased by 4.6% in July 2020 compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year. In June 2020 and in May 2020 the annual rates of change were -5.1% and -7.0%, respectively. From June 2020 to July 2020 the index rose by 0.3%.

The index of import prices, excluding crude oil and mineral oil products, decreased in July 2020 by 2.4% compared with July 2019.

The index of export prices decreased by 1.1% in July 2020 compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year. In June 2020 and in May 2020 the annual rates of change were -1.0% and -1.2%, respectively. From June 2020 to July 2020 the index remained unchanged.
