Press release No. 338 of 3 September 2020
WIESBADEN – Over a third (34.4%) of the foreigners in employment who came from a country outside the EU were in atypical employment in 2019, that is, they either had a fixed-term job, worked less than 20 hours per week, were marginally employed or in temporary agency work. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that, in contrast, only 17.9% of the core group of persons in employment with German citizenship were in atypical employment. That was a decrease of 1.1 million on 2011.
