Press Proportion of vocational and continuing training of upper secondary education in Germany above OECD average in 2018

WIESBADEN – In 2018 in Germany, 2.42 million pupils were in upper secondary education, that is, the upper secondary grades of grammar school, vocational training in the dual system, or a vocational school. Among them, 1.13 million persons participated in vocational and continuing training. To coincide with the publication of "International education indicators in a comparison across the Länder", the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that in 2018 the proportion of vocational and continuing training of all pupils in upper secondary education in Germany (47%) was higher than the OECD average (42%).
