WIESBADEN – Today we remember Dr. Hildegard Bartels (died on 16 September 2008), former President of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). Dr. Hildegard Bartels held the position of President between 1972 and 1980. She was the first woman in the Federal Republic of Germany who was entrusted to lead a federal authority.
