WIESBADEN – Where in eastern and western Germany are the numbers of newborns with unmarried parents similar? Where is the per capita gross domestic product similar? Where does it take similar time to get to the nearest international airport? These are just three out of 30 questions the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) asks in the Deutschland-Quiz (quiz about Germany, only in German) to coincide with the 30th anniversary of German unity. Starting on 7 September, the authority is going to use this new format to invite people to learn more about the population, economy and infrastructure of Germany and to make the wall in people’s minds crumble.
