WIESBADEN – As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), the construction of a total of 31,600 dwellings was permitted in Germany in August 2020. Compared with the corresponding month of 2019 this is a decrease of 1.4 % or 400 dwellings.
For January to August 2020, however, a 4.6% increase was recorded on the same period of 2019. The figures include building permits issued for new buildings and for work on existing buildings.
