• Production of pasta up 20% on average between January and September 2020 compared with the same period of the previous year
• By contrast, production of toilet tissue remained relatively stable
WIESBADEN – Temporarily the demand for specific sanitary products and convenience goods is increasing markedly during the coronavirus pandemic. Based on an ad hoc evaluation of the production survey, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that domestic production of certain products has also increased during the “corona year 2020”. From January to September 2020, for example, the production of disinfectants was on average 80% above the previous year’s level.
