Calendar and seasonally adjusted exports: expected decrease of 1.8% on March 2021

WIESBADEN – According to provisional results, 35.6% more goods were exported from Germany to countries outside the European Union (third countries) in April 2021 than in April 2020. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that on a calendar and seasonally adjusted basis, German exports to third countries are expected to have declined by 1.8% in April 2021 compared with March 2021. These are results of the new early foreign trade indicator developed by the Federal Statistical Office. From now on, the monthly indicator will provide first results on exports to non-EU countries as soon as 20 to 25 days after the end of the month, which is more than two weeks earlier than before.
