WIESBADEN – In April 2021, accommodation establishments in Germany recorded 8.5 million overnight stays of visitors from Germany and abroad. Based on provisional results, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that, although this was almost twice the number of overnight stays of April 2020 (+94.9%), a month strongly affected by the coronavirus crisis, it was only just over a fifth of the overnight stays of April of the pre-crisis year 2019 (-79.0%).
