Turnover in accommodation and food services, May 2021 (provisional results)
+13.7%, in real terms, on the previous month (calendar and seasonally adjusted)
+14.2%, in nominal terms, on the previous month (calendar and seasonally adjusted)
-1.7%, in real terms, on the same month a year earlier
+1.1%, in nominal terms, on the same month a year earlier
WIESBADEN - In May 2021, the calendar and seasonally adjusted turnover in accommodation and food services increased by a real (price adjusted) 13.7% and a nominal (not price adjusted) 14.2% compared with April 2021. Based on provisional results, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the calendar and seasonally adjusted turnover on a real basis (price adjusted) was still 64.5% below the level of February 2020, the month before the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in Germany.
