Turnover in the service sector, 2nd quarter of 2021
+2.8% on the previous quarter (calendar and seasonally adjusted)
+14.7% on the same quarter a year earlier (calendar and seasonally adjusted)

Persons employed in the service sector, 2nd quarter of 2021:
+0.4% on the previous quarter (seasonally adjusted)
+1.6% on the same quarter a year earlier (seasonally adjusted)

WIESBADEN – According to provisional results of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), the enterprises in selected service branches in Germany generated a seasonally and calendar adjusted, nominal turnover (not price adjusted) in the 2nd quarter of 2021 that was 2.8% higher than in the 1st quarter of 2021. Compared with the same quarter a year earlier, the calendar and seasonally adjusted turnover was up 14.7%. As a result, turnover has returned to its pre-crisis level of the 4th quarter of 2019, that is, the quarter before the corona pandemic broke out in Germany (+0.1%). The selected service branches comprise the areas of transportation and storage, information and communication, professional and technical activities, and administrative and support service activities.
